A first version that tries to do everything ships nothing
Every reasonable feature added to a first version delays it. The discipline is choosing, on purpose, the one workflow it must handle end to end.
Every first version invites a longer feature list than it needs. A form could also validate five edge cases. A dashboard could also filter by ten dimensions. Each addition sounds reasonable on its own. Together, they are the reason a first version takes three months instead of three weeks.
Ship the narrow version, on purpose
The discipline is choosing, on purpose, which single workflow the first version must handle end to end, and treating everything else as a fast follow. A narrow tool people actually use next week beats a complete one still in review next quarter.
If your first version has more than one workflow on the list, it has not been scoped yet. It has been wished for.
