The real test of a new system is week three, not launch day
Launch day usually goes well because everyone is paying attention. The real test comes two or three weeks later, once the novelty wears off and the first awkward case appears.
The rollout meeting goes well. The demo works, everyone nods, and for the first few days the numbers look clean because everyone is being extra careful with a new tool. That is not the test. It is the honeymoon.
Watch for the quiet reversion
The failure is rarely dramatic. It is one person quietly going back to their old spreadsheet because the new tool had no answer for their edge case, and nobody noticed until the two stopped matching. Whoever owns the rollout should be checking in at week three, not only on launch day.
The real question is not whether launch day went well. It is who is still using the system in week four.
